Aboriginal English

This category is for Australian Aboriginal English and Broken (Tores Strait pidgin English). Melanesian pidgin Englishes are related.

Bislama

This is the English-based pidgin of Vanuatu. It is also known as Bichelamar. Tok Pisin of Papua New Guinea and Pijin of the Solomon Islands are closely related. French has had some minor influence on Bislama, since Vanuatu was formerly a colony of both England and France.

Cameroon Pidgin English

This is the English-Based Pidgin of Cameroon. There is some influence from French since Cameroon was under both English and French colonial influence.

Gullah

This is the English-based creole of the coastal islands of Georgia and South Carolina in the United States.

Hawaiian Pidgin

Pidgin is an creole language predominantly influenced by Hawaiian grammar, and vocabulary from the languages of various cultures that migrated to Hawai`i including English, Japanese and of course, `Olelo Hawai`i.

In linguistic research, Pidgin is generally referred to as Hawai`i Creole English or HCE.

Hobson-Jobson

This is an English-South Asian pidgin.

Jamaican Creole

This is the English-Based creole of Jamaica. It is related to other English-based creoles of the Caribbean.

Manglish

This is the English-based pidgin of Malaysia. It is closely related to Singlish, the English-based pidgin of Singapore.

Nigerian Pidgin

This is the pidgin English spoken in Nigeria.

North American Black English

This is the language of African-Americans in North America. It is also known as Ebonics.

Pitcairnese and Norfolkese

These are the creoles spoken on Pitcairn and Norfolk Islands.

Sierra Leone Krio

This is the creole English spoken in Sierra Leone.

Singlish

This is the English-based pidgin of Singapore. It is closely related to Manglish, the English-based pidgin of Malaysia.

Solomon Islands Pijin

This is the pidgin English spoken on the Solomon Islands. It is closely related to Tok Pisin of Papua New Guinea and Bislama of Vanuatu.

Sranan

This is the English creole of Suriname.

Tok Pisin

Tok Pisin is the pidgin English of Papua New Guinea. Recently, it has been creolizing due to an increasing number of people using it as a first language. Closely related languages are Bislama from Vanuatu and Pijin from the Solomon Islands. Synonyms for Tok Pisin are: Melanesian Pidgin English, neo-Melanesian, Pidgin English, and Talk Boy.
